Bereavement Ministry
This ministry welcomes all who have experienced the loss of a loved one.  It offers educational, emotional and spiritual support during the grieving process.  Weekly meetings are scheduled during a six-week session and these sessions take place three times a year.

Eucharistic Ministers to Adult Care Facilities
This ministry is open to all parishioners who would like to help extend the love and compassion of our parish by distributing the Eucharist on Sunday to the sick and elderly in local nursing homes. Teams rotate on a five to six week schedule.

Health and Wellness Ministry
This ministry is open to parishioners in the health care profession e.g. nurses, doctors, social workers, health care aides and caregivers, etc. This ministry promotes the health and wellness with the parish community. Blood pressure screenings takes place the first Sunday of the month in the Parish Center from 8:45 a.m. to Noon.

Homebound Ministry
Members attend to the spiritual needs of those who are unable to leave home to receive the Body of Christ, thereby keeping them connected to the parish community.

Mission of San Pablo, Ecuador
OLC Parish supports Father Desmond Dalton, a priest of the Society of St. James, in his efforts to care for the 7,500 residents in the poor fishing village of San Pablo, Ecuador. Support is in the form of services and financial assistance.

New Journey Widow/Widowers’ Club
New Journey is a social group for widows and widowers who are seeking new friends and activities. The group meets every fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m.; schedules are altered during the holidays.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Parishioners knit or crochet prayer shawls to be given to those who need special prayers. The group meets on the last Monday of the month to share prayers, stories, and the works of our hearts and hands.

Rainbows for All God’s Children Ministry
Rainbows is a support group for elementary school children who are experiencing loss from separation, divorce or death. We try to help grieving children put their feelings into words, build stronger self-esteem, and begin to accept what has happened in the family. Trained facilitators lead the groups and assist the children in sharing their feelings in a safe and confident environment.

Social Justice Ministry
This ministry is open to all parishioners who would like to participate in humanitarian and environmental efforts. It affords an opportunity to help clothe the poor, feed the hungry and address issues of peace and justice on a local a global basis. This includes: Eva’s Kitchen, New Orleans Rebuild, Fr. English Center, Habitat for Humanity, Teddy Bear Lift, Stuffed Animal Drive, Crop Walk, Backpacks for Kids, Prison Ministry.

Transportation
Volunteers are needed to transport seniors and other individuals in need to and from Mass on the weekend and/or medical appointments.

Veterans’ Ministry
This is open to all parishioners who served in the military, thereby recognizing those who bravely served our country. They participate in the parish’s annual Veteran’s Day celebration.
